It argues that effective public administration is instrumental in facilitating impactful media advocacy efforts related to the SDGs within the society. The paper provides a comprehensive overview of the key concepts of effective administration, media advocacy, and sustainable development, setting the foundation for a deeper exploration of their interconnectedness. It delves into the pivotal role of media advocacy in advancing the SDGs, underscoring its potential to raise awareness, foster citizen engagement, disseminate information, humanize the goals, amplify diverse voices, promote dialogue, advocate for policy changes, and ensure progress monitoring and accountability. Furthermore, the paper highlights how effective public administration can support and enhance media advocacy for the SDGs. It emphasizes the importance of safeguarding press freedom and freedom of expression, facilitating access to SDG-related information, fostering collaboration and engagement with media organizations, developing strategic partnerships with media professionals, recognizing and supporting the media sector, providing capacity building opportunities, responding promptly and professionally to media inquiries, identifying suitable media outlets for SDG advocacy, and establishing professional working relationships. The paper concludes that media advocacy plays a pivotal role in advancing the SDGs and improving the lives of people in different settings. However, the realization of these transformative impacts hinges upon the proactive support and enabling environment created by public administrators responsible for regulating the media landscape.
