1. Introduction
The field of construction project management is a dynamic and complex domain where the confluence of various
interests, technologies, and practices creates a fertile ground for ethical dilemmas. As the construction industry
evolves with advancements in technology and increasing project complexities, the role of ethical considerations
becomes ever more critical. Ethical behavior in construction project management not only influences the success
and sustainability of projects but also impacts stakeholder trust, legal compliance, and the broader societal good
(Choi & Hecht, 2018).
Ethics in construction project management encompasses a broad spectrum of issues, including honesty, integrity,
fairness, and accountability. These principles are foundational to building and maintaining trust among
stakeholders, which is crucial for the successful completion of projects. The unique nature of construction projects,
often characterized by significant financial investments, diverse teams, and tight deadlines, further accentuates the
need for ethical vigilance. According to Loosemore and Lim (2017), the complex interrelationships among
stakeholders, including clients, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and the community, can lead to conflicting
interests and ethical challenges.
