Abstract
This study examines the critical role technology plays in contemporary
business operations, analyzing how advancements in digital technologies like
artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things are
transforming business models, enhancing operational efficiency, facilitating
data-driven decision making, and driving innovation, while emphasizing the
necessity for companies to adapt to the rapidly evolving technological
landscape to maintain competitiveness in the global market. While the ethics of
technology is analyzed across disciplines from science and technology studies
(STS), engineering, computer science, critical management studies, and law,
less attention is paid to the role that firms and managers play in the design,
development, and dissemination of technology across communities and within
their firm. Each field brings expertise that, together, improves our
understanding of the ethical implications of technology.
