In Indonesia, there are quite a number of sufferers of mental health disorders, approximately 19 million people over the age of 15 experience mental and emotional disorders, both at mild to severe levels. These data show that the Indonesian state has not been able to properly address mental health problems and that the existence of a pandemic tends to increase sufferers of mental health disorders, which if left unchecked will have a negative impact. Based on this problem, the Circle application, that focuses on mental health using Android technology that supports self-help with several services, one of which is an article service. The article service in the Circle application requires a recommendation system that can recommend articles according to the mental health conditions experienced by users so that the articles are able to alleviate the mental health problems currently experienced by users. Topic Modeling is an approach to analyze a collection of text documents and group them into topics. Topic Modeling has several methods that can be applied in making topics, one of which is BERTopic. It is a technique that leverages Transformer and c-TF-IDF to create dense clusters, preserving keywords in topic descriptions while making topics easier to interpret. There are 3 important components of the BERTopic algorithm namely Document Embedding, Document Clustering, Topic Representation. This study uses Topic Modeling with the BERTopic method as the baseline for the mental health article recommendation system in the circle application. INTRODUCTION ealthy mental health is a condition when our minds and hearts are in a state of peace, calm and undisturbed, thus enabling us to enjoy daily life in a pleasant, happy and hopeful way and to be able to respect others [1]. A person who is mentally healthy can use his or her abilities both physically and mentally optimally in living life, as well as establishing harmonious relationships with other people [1]. Conversely, if someone with mental health problems will experience disturbances in mood, physical and mental abilities, and emotional control which can eventually lead to bad behavior that can harm themselves and others. In Indonesia, according to Riset Kesehatan Dasar (basic health research) conducted by the Indonesian ministry of health, approximately 19 million people aged over 15 year experiences mental and emotional disorders, of course this is a serious problem. The Indonesian government has overcome this by providing health centers and mental hospitals in every province. However, 31.2% of puskesmas (community health facility) and 6 provinces in Indonesia do not yet have mental hospitals and mental health care. The data shows that the government has not been able to handle mental health problems properly and the existence of a pandemic has triggered an increase in sufferers of mental disorders caused by many factors such as economic and social factors which if left unchecked will have a negative impact and harm themselves and others. Based on this problem, we develop an Android-based application, called Circle, that focuses on mental health that supports self-help with several services offered such as support groups, reading and audio article content as well as online consultation with professional psychologists with the vision "Safe place to share and express your feelings”. In realizing a mental health application that supports self-help, Circle has a self-help oriented service, namely article content. Article content in the Circle application requires a recommendation system that can recommend articles according to mental health conditions experienced by users so that the articles are able to alleviate the mental health problems that are being experienced by users. The desired article recommendation system is a recommendation system that is able to provide specific article recommendations based on the mental health problems currently being experienced by users. In making a recommendation system, there are various methods that can be used, one of which is Topic Modeling.
