NAGY PÉTER The importance of theoretical networks in interdisciplinarity Abstract As its starting point, the study takes the interconnectedness and interdependent dy- namics of research networks rather than the stabilisation of disciplinary confinement. It gives examples of how theoretical networks are formed between different disci- plines. In physics, it mentions Grand Unified Theory from the perspective of quantum gravity. Then it addresses the issue of consciousness in the context of the current state of artificial intelligence research. As a third example, it discusses the theoretical networks of cultural epidemiology and the medical humanities, which presuppose the intersection of natural, social, and human sciences. The study emphasises that when analysing theoretical networks, it is not enough to ascertain the fact of connection; the contact points must also be examined, and for the issues that can be described by theoretical networks (e.g. epidemics, emergence, chaos, consciousness, literature, culture), it is essential to understand the elements of the network separately. The train of thought thus provides a perspective for approaching progressive theoretical networks. A Selye János Egyetem Magyar Nyelv és Irodalom Tanszékén létrejött interdiszciplináris szemléletű kutatócsoportunk egy VEGA-program keretében működik. A 2022-ben és 2023-ban futó tudományos projekt címe: Elmélethálózatok a humán tudományokban (regisztrációs száma: 1/0208/22). A programban e sorok íróján kívül négy fiatal kutató vesz részt, a továbbiakban az ő tanulmányaik olvashatók, kiegészítve egy ötödik, angol nyelvű anyaggal.
