Abstract: This article analyzes the evidences of epigraphic texts mentioning
the rural territories of Moesia Inferior as a source of recruitment. We try to explain
the high frequency of the mentions in the territory of Nicopolis ad Istrum, without
neglecting the other rural milieus.

Резюме: Статията анализира свидетелствата на епиграфски текстове, в
които се споменават селските територии на Moesia Inferior като източник на
рекрутиране на войници за римската армия. Авторът се опитва да обясни
голямата честота на споменаванията на територията на Никополис ад Иструм,
но не пренебрегва и другите селски средища.
L’étude des soldats issus du milieu rural de Mésie Inférieure a été
favorisée par le nombre accru des diplômes militaires découverts ces
dernières années. La plupart d’entre eux proviennent du marché des
antiquités et, même si le lieu exact où ils ont été dénichés demeure bien
sûr officiellement inconnu, le nom des soldats et des unités militaires
indique leur possible découverte dans le milieu rural de la Mésie
