Three research questions guided the study. The population of the study was all the undergraduate students in Anambra State tertiary institutes during 2023/2024 academic year. The sample size was 1000 students obtained through purposive sampling technique. The instrument for data collection was a researcher developed questionnaire made up of three clusters to appraise the levels of addictions among tertiary students from Anambra State. The reliability of the instrument was obtained using split half method and data collected was analysed using Pearson’s product moment to obtain a coefficient () of 0.71. The questionnaire was distributed through the assistance of eight briefed student counsellors. The data collected was analysed using aggregate scores for research question one (1), pie chart for research question two (2) and mean scores for research question three (3). The findings of the study revealed that about 6.6% of the students were involved in addiction, 36.1% uses substances while 45.7% were free from substance usage. The following recommendations among others were proffered there is the need for proper censorship on adverts for selling tobacco and alcohols. More counsellors should be employed in tertiary institutes. School porters are to work in collaboration with counsellors to fish out victims for treatments.
