ABSTRACT
Artificial intelligence has gained significant traction in various industries, including
education, due to its potential to improve academic outcomes. However, the rapid
advancement of technology raises concerns that educational discourse may lag
behind in understanding its pros and cons. Thus, this chapter examines ethical
considerations when incorporating AI into higher education institutions, with the
aim to develop a conceptual framework to provide various stakeholders with precise
guidelines.
INTRODUCTION
Technological advances and increased global connectivity have changed the world in
many ways, including how we live economically, ecologically, and socially. The term
“megatrend” describes the overall pattern of these changes. Haluza and Jungwirth
(2023), revealed that for the foreseeable future, these megatrends will be around.
Specifically, technology like ChatGPT from Open AI is a result of the exponential
