The article provides an overview of research activity of the Lviv school of Translation Studies based
at the Hryhoriy Kochur Department of Translation Studies and Contrastive Linguistics, which in 2023 will
celebrate its 25
th
anniversary. The authors dwell upon the history of the department and its key trends of
research, which back in the 1990s were delineated by its founder, Prof. Roksolana Zorivchak. The article
goes on to elucidate three lines of developments, namely scholarly activity, projects and research initiatives
and students’ research and activism. A special focus is on the scholarly and academic initiatives of the
Department at the war period.
