PUVAR Associate Professor MahilaMahavidyalay, Vadodara ABSTRACT A study through the very inner concepts of any literary works can take any piece of work to another level of understanding. This research paper studies graphic novel of Alan Moore’s V for Vendetta with history, culture and politics. People remember the victory but forget the blood. In this select graphic novel, here anti-hero presents the dark truth of it’s the time. Under the label of DC universe this graphic novel got established and this can also be said that this graphic novel is a source of inspiration for Joker. Through specific attention to detail, Moore shares a narrative, which focuses on his main character, V, prompting the reader to question V’s morality. Human rights and political freedoms are very important in a society, and lies at the nerve of history and political thought of democratic societies. It starts with one person and to all to take rights of their own. Political freedom can be explained from the realms of being free from both oppression and coercion in the participation of a country's political progress. It also asks the question of existentialism. Political freedom encompasses the freedom of the majority of citizens to influence and guide a political course as well as the freedom of minority groups to voice their concerns. The study also established with New Historical point of view where many details can be explored.Throughout the research of this graphic novel, V for Vendetta, it can be depicted that a society caught in the undertow of anarchism, fascism, existentialism and the oppressive regime under the iron fist of the Norsefire government. Those who are having hegemonic power with wrong intention can rule the society and culture in terrible way. Combined with the social narrative, intricate attention to graphic detail, and symbolic character and plot choices, V for Vendetta serves as a social commentary on England in the late 20 th century.It is on people to decide about V as what and who for the society and for people.
