Abstract
The following written dialogue began as an intergenerational conversation, hosted by the
lesbian feminist literary journal Sinister Wisdom, about Mairead Sullivan’s book Lesbian
Death: Desire and Danger between Feminist and Queer, and continued over a series of
Zoom conversations in the spring of 2024. We discuss what the term lesbian means to
