Roberto Schwarz e Mikhail Bakhtin Roberto Schwarz and Mikhail Bakhtin Resumo: Este artigo procura compreender como se articula a noção de heterodiscurso, proveniente da teo- ria do romance de Mikhail Bakhtin, no trabalho crítico de Roberto Schwarz sobre Machado de Assis. Para isso, analisaremos alguns trechos de ensaios importantes do crítico sobre o autor, levando em consideração o tipo de argumentação usada no trato direto com o texto literá- rio. Propõe-se também questionar como esse tipo de análise se conjuga com o referencial teórico que aparece mais frequentemente no trabalho do crítico paulista, a saber, a tradição da teoria hegeliana do romance. Como conclusão, discute-se as possibilidades de aproximação entre essas duas matrizes teóricas para a análise literária. Palavras-chave: Roberto Schwarz; heterodiscurso; Bakhtin. Abstract: This article seeks to understand how the notion of heterodiscourse, originating from Mikhail Bakhtin’s theory of the novel, is articulated in Roberto Schwarz’s critical work on Machado de Assis. To do this, we will analyze some excerpts from important essays by the critic about the author, taking into account the type of argumentation used in direct dealing with the lite- rary text. It is also proposed to question how this type of analysis is combined with the theoretical framework that appears most frequently in the work of the critic from São Paulo, namely, the tradition of Frankfurt criti- cal theory. As a conclusion, we discuss the possibilities of bringing these two theoretical matrices closer toge- ther for literary analysis. Keywords: Roberto Schwarz, heterodiscurse; Bakhtin.
