The Exodus Census Numbers of Steve Lorenz… a stern Rebuttal https://www.academia.edu/126982474/Exodus_Census_Numbers_A_Mathem atical_Solution A Rebuttal by Ron Van Brenk- Aug. 22/2025 his prime Census Number Nemesis Now, right from the outset, I should probably confess that Steve and I have some history. Which is to say, we don’t get along all that well. In fact, we get along much like Erasmus and Luther did in the latter’s book called The Bondage of the Will. A most enjoyable book. With Luther having wonderfully colourful language there. I heartily recommend it. What, you don’t like stern language? Perhaps you should tear Matthew 23 out of your Bibles then. Among other chapters… Yet I will try to restrain myself somewhat. Despite Steve minimizing the extent of the Exodus. Despite his minimizing of the numbers involved in the book of Numbers. And thereby minimizing the GREATNESS of my God. Minimizing those numbers with a not-so-novel paradigm. With Steve questioning a multitude of numbers there. Essentially asking, ‘Hath God actually numbered?’ Or are the biblical numbers different than our numbers? So, in reply to him, yes, God actually gave those mind-numbing numbers in Numbers. And no amount of creative accounting will change those massive numbers of God. Not without significant biblical revisionism. And not without selective revisionism since Steve’s paradigm is not absolute. Steve thinks he gets to pick and choose whatever he wants to revise. Doing God a grave injustice in the process. As if Steve’s Reed Sea paradigm wasn’t novel enough. Now he wants to revise absolute numbers.
