ABSTRACT
With the onset of digital automation, the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
has been transformed from scripting to intelligent workflows and automated test
pipelines. This article addresses the upcoming trends in the adoption of automation
tools that automate testing and releasing to improve efficiency and reduce errors. It
highlights the benefits of adopting continuous integration and continuous delivery
(CI/CD) pipelines, which enable faster, more reliable software deployment. By looking
at past research prior to 2016 and actual real-world instances, this study shows that
orchestrated workflows enhance collaboration, reduce human overhead, and provide
consistency throughout the SDLC. The article also touches on challenges faced in
embracing automation and throws light on the way forward, including the future of
robotic process automation (RPA) and advanced orchestration techniques. Graphics
convey the evolution from manual to automated processes, highlighting the increasing
relevance of intelligent workflows in contemporary software development.
