Synthesis of nanoporous carbon materials (NСMs) from lignin of fir wood in the presence of potassium
hydroxide was carried out by varying the carbonization conditions at 800 °С . Using the methods of
nitrogen adsorption at 77 K and scanning electron microscopy, the influence of conditions of lignin
carbonization on the formation of a porous structure of the NСMs was studied. The obtained samples of
NСMs, have specific surface area up to 3157 m
2
/g, pore volume up to 1.92 cm
3
/g, fraction of micropores
up to 92.2 rel. %, average pore size of 1.88–2.43 nm and have a high sorption capacity for benzene
(up to 1.41 g/g).
