All rights reserved. Abstract: A person's inability to understand the methods of interpreting the Al-Qur'an, whether general or specific methods, will result in errors in interpreting the Al-Qur'an. This error can take the form of an interpretation that deconstructs the Shari'ah or Islamic law itself as clear evidence of a misunderstanding of the Qur’an. Seeing how important it is to understand the method of interpreting the Al-Qur'an, this article aims to discuss specific methods of interpreting the Al-Qur'an, especially the tafsir Jami'ul Bayan Fi Ta'wilil Al-Qur'an by Imam Abu Ja'far Muhammad bin Jarir at- Tabari. The approach used is a qualitative approach using a literature review in data collection. Several results were obtained from this research, including: First, an understanding of the special method as a method used by the interpreter when he uses general methods to achieve his goals. Second, Ath-Thabari's special method in interpreting the Al-Qur'an in Surah Al-Fatihah verses two to four: (1) Using the sentence al-qaul fi ta'wil at the beginning of the interpretation. (2) Divide the verse into several words. (3) Defining words at the beginning of the interpretation. (4) Interpret with history to clarify the interpretation. (5) Detailed interpretation of the verse. (6) Present poetry to explain the meaning of the sentence. (7) Explain the differences between qira'at in the interpretation of the Al-Qur'an. (8) Perform tarjih when interpreting a sentence in a verse. Keywords: differences in qiraat; detailed interpretation; interpretation of the Koran; madhab of interpretation; interpretive purposes. Abstrak: Ketidakmampuan seseorang dalam memahami metode penafsiran Al-Qur'an, baik metode umum maupun khusus, akan mengakibatkan kesalahan dalam menafsirkan Al-Qur'an. Kesalahan ini dapat berupa penafsiran yang mendekonstruksi syariat atau hukum Islam itu sendiri sebagai bukti nyata adanya kesalahpahaman terhadap Al- Qur’an. Melihat betapa pentingnya memahami metode penafsiran Al-Qur'an, maka artikel ini bertujuan untuk membahas metode khusus dalam menafsirkan Al-Qur'an, khususnya tafsir Jami'ul Bayan Fi Ta'wilil Al-Qur'an. oleh Imam Abu Ja'far Muhammad bin Jarir at-Tabari. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan tinjauan pustaka dalam pengumpulan data. Beberapa hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini antara lain: Pertama, pengertian metode khusus sebagai metode yang digunakan oleh penafsir ketika ia menggunakan metode umum untuk mencapai tujuannya. Kedua, metode khusus Ath-Thabari dalam menafsirkan Al-Qur'an pada
