Thidiazuron (TDZ) @ 50 μM resulted in maximum solution uptake on 2 nd (10.437 g spike -1 ), 4 th (10.651 g spike -1 ), 6 th (10.814g spike -1 ), 8 th (9.348 g spike -1 ), 10 th (7.296 g spike -1 ) and 12 th day(4.996 g spike -1 ), maximum solution loss on 2 nd (6.431 g spike -1 ), 4 th (7.445 g spike -1 ), 6 th (8.064 g spike -1 ), 8 th (6.215 g spike -1 ), 10 th (5.599 g spike -1 ) and 12 th day (5.299 g spike -1 ), maximum fresh weight change on on 2 nd (17.752 %), 4 th (26.121 %), 6 th (33.674 g %), 8 th (39.974 %), 10 th (47.249 %) and 12 th day (44.949 %),maximum membrane stability index (MSI) (0.65), minimum ion leakage (21.109 %), minimum flower wilting (0.270 %), maximum chlorophyll content (92.15) and maximum vase life (16.09 day). BA @ 0.4 mM resulted in maximum solution uptake on 2 nd (9.8 98 g spike -1 ), 4 th (10.029 g spike -1 ), 6 th (10.234g spike -1 ), 8 th (8.812 g spike -1 ), 10 th (6.771 g spike - 1 ) and 12 th day (4.471g spike -1 ) , maximum solution loss on 2 nd (5.444 g spike -1 ), 4 th (6.586 g spike -1 ), 6 th (6.887 g spike -1 ), 8 th (5.561 g spike -1 ), 10 th (4.650 g spike -1 ) and 12 th day (4.350 g spike -1 ), maximum fresh weight change on 2 nd (17.638 %), 6 th (33.677 g %), 10 th (44.024 %) and 12 th day(44.724%), maximum membrane stability index (MSI) (0.563), reduction in ion leakage (31.479 %) and flower wilting (0.439 %), maximum chlorophyll content (76.67) and maximum vase life (14.81 day). GA3 @ 4mM resulted in maximum maximum solution uptake on 2 nd (9.596 g spike -1 ), 4 th (9.761 g spike -1 ), 6 th (9.972g spike -1 ), 8 th (8.598 g spike -1 ), 10 th (6.517 g spike -1 ) and 12 th day (4.217 g spike -1 ) and maximum solution loss on 2 nd (4.906 g spike - 1 ), 4 th (6.254 g spike -1 ), 6 th (6.502 g spike -1 ), 8 th (5.319 g spike -1 ), 10 th (4.266 g spike -1 ) and 12 th day (3.966 g spike -1 ), maximum fresh weight change on 2 nd (17.177 %), maximum membrane stability index (MSI)(0.524), reduction in ion leakage (35.554 %) and flower wilting (0.492%), maximum chlorophyll content (73.19) and maximum vase life (14.27 day). Key words: BA, chrysanthemum, GA 3 , TDZ, Vase life. Chrysanthemum (Dendranthema grandiflora Ramat.) belongs to the family Asteraceae. It is a herbaceous perennial plant and is a popular flower crop of commercial importance. It is the national flower of Japan and is native to Northern hemisphere, chiefly Europe and Asia. In India, it is popular among the farmers as “Guldaudhi”. It is grown as cut flower, loose flower, potted flowering plant, bedding plant and for exhibitions.
