Abstract: Most children currently engage in online gaming, and most of them are playing an online game known as
Roblox. The game is designed for children aged 8 to 12. This is an age group where there is a clear emotional and
intellectual growth in which they show curiosity, innovativeness, and interact with other children.
Despite the positive effects of playing Roblox, this usually overrides the potential negative effects or risks that might hit
the children. According to the study, online gaming may be used in a responsible manner, but certain attention should be
paid to the guidance that would assist in the formation of children, instead of hurting them. The paper examines both the
positive and the adverse effects of Roblox in order to determine the effects it has on the emotional development and
problem solving processes of Roblox. The control or management of the parents of their children to keep the balance and
responsible gaming of the children will be incorporated in the study.

I. INTRODUCTION
Roblox actively promotes itself to children, as evident in both its content and advertisements. Virtual interactive
environments within the game are more prominent as “experiences”. Although certain content and experiences are
created by Roblox, most of it is developed by the community [1]. Children who are 8-12 years old are at a crucial
phase of both their emotional and cognitive progress, wherein they start making use of their ability to solve
problems around them. At this stage, their emotional development is also at its peak. Due to these circumstances,
their curiosity and intrusiveness allow them to be more vulnerable to the risks and influence of online gaming
platforms like Roblox.
One of the most notable features in Roblox experiences is “co-op” or cooperative play, where two or more
players interact and work together to complete specific objectives. This allows children to work as a team and also
enhances their ability to solve problems [2]. By using clues or information that they get from what they are playing,
they are able to achieve the game’s goals through the varying strategies that they create. Often, children will fail in
certain strategies, allowing them to adapt and create other opportunities to advance to the following stages of the
game. This broadens both their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. In addition, cooperative play in the
platform gives children the opportunity to exercise emotional regulation since they must be able to manage their
