Filozofski fakultet u Splitu Odjel za povijest HR 21000-Split ivan.matijevic@fst.hr U radu su objavljena dva nadgrobna spomenika koja su pripada- la vojnicima Druge kohorte Kiresta (cohors II Cyrrhestarum sagi- ttaria). Nadgrobna ara devedesetogodišnjeg veterana Gaja Julija Mare pronađena je u središtu Solina 1992. godine tijekom zaštit- nih arheoloških istraživanja. Spomenik je u potpunosti očuvan, a datira se u vrijeme od 50. i 60. pa do 80. godine. Fra Lujo Marun otkrio je u Burnumu 1912. drugi spomenik koji nam je poznat preko crteža iz njegovih Starinarskih dnevnika. Stela je fragmen- tirana čime je donekle otežana ispravna restitucija njezinoga nat- pisa. Datira se u sredinu 1. stoljeća. Dio rasprave autor je posvetio vremenu nastanka Druge kohorte Kiresta, mjestu njezina borav- ka i problemu raspuštanja, odnosno premještanja iz provincije, te spomenicima koje su njezini pripadnici ostavili u Dalmaciji. Ključne riječi: Salona, Burnum, nadgrobna ara, stela, veteran, vojnik, cohors II Cyrrhestarvm sagittaria The article publishes two funerary monuments that belonged to soldiers of the Second Cohort Cyrrhestarum (cohors II Cyrrhes- tarum sagittaria). The funerary ara of the ninety year old veteran Caius Julius Mara was found in the center of Solin in 1992 during archaeological rescue excavations. The monument is completely preserved and is dated to the period from AD 50-60 to 80. Fr Lujo Marun discovered another monument at Burnum in 1912, which is known from a drawing in his Antiquities Journal. The stele is fragmentary, which makes it somewhat diicult to restitute its in- scription correctly. It is dated to the middle of the 1 st century. Part of the discussion is devoted to the period of the formation of the Second Cohort Cyrrhestarum, where it was stationed in Dalmatia, and the problem of its disbanding or transferal from the province, and the monuments left behind in Dalmatia by its members.
