The treatment of the Spanish Civil war in the textbooks Marcos Marina Carranza Universidad Autónoma de Madrid marcosmarinacarranza@gmail.com Resumen: La presente comunicación tiene por objetivo analizar el relato sobre la Guerra Civil presente en los libros de texto. La argumentación partirá de una premisa central: los manuales escolares de Historia son el único contacto con el pasado que tiene buena parte de la población a lo largo de sus vidas. A través de la comparación de las distintas explicaciones sobre el conlicto desde la posguerra hasta la actualidad se buscará, en primer lugar, señalar las semejanzas y diferencias aparecidas en tales discursos y, en segundo término, analizar qué relato de la guerra han transmitido los manuales escolares y qué relaciones se han establecido entre los alumnos y su pasado, determinando el tipo de identidades colectivas construidas en torno a la contienda. AbstRAct: This paper aims to analyze the accounts about the Spanish Civil War that appears in the textbooks. The exposition will be start from a main premise: the textbooks of History are the only contact with the past that have many people during their lives. Through the comparison of all the explanations about the war make from the postwar period until the present time, it is expect irst of all to show the similarities and the differences of these accounts and secondly to analyze what war’s explanation have passed on the textbooks and what relationships have established between the students and his past, determining the type of collective identities that have been created about the war.
