Abstract The primary research question is the identification of common characteristics and symptoms presented by people with dyscalculia and difficulties in applying algorithmic thinking. Algorithmic thinking is called the ability of comprehension, implementation, evaluation and creation of algorithms. A key point of the search are the features that could be observed in people with problems in algorithmic thinking as well as the analysis and evaluation of difficulties related to mathematical and algorithmic thinking. INTRODUCTION Whether difficulty in applying algorithmic thinking is accepted as a specific disorder, a specific screener is needed besides the mathematical abilities generalized tests. Although studies of learning disabilities in general are in advanced stage, researches related to disturbances in the implementation of algorithmic procedures are limited since interest in this field is recently displayed. This is the reason why a digital solution for accurately screening in order to control the perception efficiency in mathematics and algorithmic thinking is strongly needed. Related word Concerning the existing screening solutions of dyscalculia, a diagnostic test called Dyscalculium was developed in order to improve the process of identifying dyscalculia and scrutinizes the level of understanding basic arithmetic concepts and relationships between numbers as well as the application of mathematics on everyday issues, suitable for undergraduate students and employees. Additionally dyscalculia screener is a computer based test that assesses the tendency for dyscalculia and specially the abilities of simple reaction time, dot enumeration, number comparison and arithmetic achievement for children 6 to 14+ years.
