Its closest relative is Uralichas Delgado, 1892, but Parvilichas n. gen. differs from Uralichas mainly in its smaller size, its larger eyes and longer genal spines. Parvilichas n. gen. extends the range of the Subfamily Lichinae down to the Floian. KEY WORDS - Trilobita, Lichidae, Upper Fezouata Formation, Floian, Tinzouline (Morocco). INTRODUCTION The first Lichinae described in the Ordovician of Morocco was Lichas marocanus Destombes, 1967 from the Katian (Upper Ordovician) of Anti-Atlas. Recently, Vela & Corbacho (2009) have described Uralichas hispanicus tardus from Sandbian (Upper Ordovician) of El Kaid-Rami (Anti-Atlas). Now we describe a new Moroccan Lichinae, Parvilichas marochii n. gen., n. sp. from Floian (Lower Ordovician) of Zagora region. The new trilobite described in the present paper was collected from an outcrop of the Upper Fezouata Formation (Destombes, 1962). It is the first record of a species of Lichinae from the Floian of Morocco; all other Moroccan Lichinae are from younger rocks. GEOLOGICAL LOCATION The locality yielding the new trilobite is located 2 Km north of Tinzouline in the Dra Valley, near the town of Zagora (32 Km at northwest), about 395 Km South of Rabat (Fig. 1). The coordinates of the locality are (about): N 30º 31', W 6º 06', altitute 820 m. The outcrop exposes the Upper Fezouata Formation (Lower Ordovician, Floian) at the top of the series in the area around Zagora. For a stratigraphic column of the area see Vidal (1998). The lithology comprises yellow-red shales typical for this formation. This outcrop has also yielded other trilobites, such as Calymenidae, Asaphidae and Selenopeltinae.
