Le Lionnais, M. Bénabou, P. Fournel), the article aims to confront on the one hand, the concept of the disparate, beloved by Le Lionnais and a fundamental element in Oulipo’s thinking, and on the other, the notion of formlessness, asking whether the archives might be the only possible place for formlessness in this group, known for its exploration of form. Formlessness can be understood as “mise en forme”, or taking shape, because the archives contain traces —hitherto unknown— of the different processes by which new constraints and structures for literature were elaborated collectively. But it can also be understood as “unfinished”, as illustrated in the Oulipo archives by the many incomplete projects (texts, ideas for constraints) which allow us to get a glimpse of a potential Oulipo. Le Lionnais et limon de la pensée de l’Oulipo, avec la notion d’informe, et de se demander si l’archive ne serait pas le seul lieu possible de l’informe dans ce groupe, célèbre pour ses explora- tions formelles. L’informe y est présent d’abord en tant que mise en forme, car les archives portent la trace — une trace jusqu’alors inconnue — des diffé- rents processus d’élaboration collective de nouvelles contraintes ou structures pour la littérature. Mais l’informe, c’est aussi l’inachevé, matérialisé dans le fonds Oulipo par les nombreux projets inaboutis (textes, idées de contraintes) permettant, enfin, d’entr’apercevoir un Oulipo potentiel.
