Questionnaire was used as an instrument of data collection. A total of200 questionnaires were distributed among employees working at BBI (Banazir Bhuto International) airport Islamabad out of which 171 were received back. According to results salary play a signiicant role in motivation level of employees but motivation is determined by a number of contributing variables and salary is one of them. Suggestions for future research are also discussed. Key words: Salary, Motivation, Airport services sector, Pakistan. All businesses throughout the world exist to earn proits and they try their best to maximize it. In order to maximize proits companies must be productive and effective and it can be achieved by motivated employees. Now a days endless change, complexity and diversity are prevailing in the world, management success is entirely dependent upon its ability to motivate its personnel as previous studies show “the degree of success, managers experience in accomplishing this feat is directly related to their ability to motivate employees (Gunn, Brenner and Mjosund, 1968). In our society usually a person adopts a profession to earn money. Since it is the basic element for which a person is doing a job therefore the amount received in return of job also matters a lot. Every body likes to have more money to fulill its needs and maintain a better standard of living. Generally it is presumed that better paid person should be more satisied and highly motivated. Motivation is a very vast terminology and needs lot of study about human psychology but there is no doubt that money is the most effective element to be considered in this regards. It is important to compare the motivation level of a person having heavy violet as compared to person having a lighter violet e.g. “In industry, money has a irmly entrenched reputation as the ultimate motivator” (Kowitz, 1967). We chose to study the effects of increase in salary on motivation level of a worker. Seeing a lying aircraft appears to be very fascinating. Most of people do not know the systems which enables an aircraft to ly in the air. There are many air lines and ground handling agencies working round the clock. There is lot of people working in aviation industry in different ields. Air ports normally maintain a good level of security which restricts the entry of unconcerned people.
