As such universities do not operate in a vacuum. They are interconnected with and lever off the resources of society. More importantly they nurture future leaders. The integrated roles and responsibilities of universities require them to be role models for emulation; they need to “practice what they preach”. One of the most challenging issues currently faced by the world and by extension the universities is unsustainable business practises. The exponential demand on finite resources coupled with environmental
