Its phonetic, morphological, syntactic and lexical features, which have been formerly studied by (1949), OlKOVOlliolle; (1952) and ZsuYW1c lle; (1956.1998), are distinguishable from the other two dialects ofNaxos. This paper will present the results of a sociolinguistic research concerning the Aperathou dialect and its basic linguistic features. as preserved by inland immigrants of Aperathou . who I ive in Athens, with the unquestionably well-marked influence of Standard Modern Greek. in all level s. Our research has been complemented by a study of the speakers' attitudes towards their own dialect (all of them are members of social networks - family and friendly relations) and the community of Aperathites and eventually towards Standard Modern Greek . 1.
