Green computing is being emphasized so that adverse effect of computing on environment can be lessen. Green computing can be realized at both organizational level as well as single user level. It is emerging as most efficient use of technology which is not only environment friendly, less costly as well. Most person realise the green computing as power efficient computing but it is not only power efficient computing but recycling of computer parts in proper way as well. In this paper we have discussed why green computing is necessary, what initiative have been taken from organization level to a single user level to make computing more green and what initiatives will make computing more green in future.
