La elección de Stravinsky y Villa- Lobos para la instauración musical del CLAEM* Hernán Gabriel Vázquez Resumen En el contexto de surgimiento del CLAEM, 1961-62, las expectativas sobre las características del tipo de estéticas musicales que el Centro abordaría giraron en torno a la producción anterior de Alberto Ginastera, su director, y a un ideal americanista vinculado estrechamente con el clima político de la época. Entre las primeras acciones públicas encaradas por el Centro, se destacan dos conciertos- homenajes: uno dedicado a conmemorar el 80º aniversario de Igor Stravinsky, y el otro, con obras de Heitor Villa-Lobos, realizado al inaugurar el aula principal del CLAEM. El estudio de la recepción de estos conciertos permite acercarnos a parte de las negociaciones que Ginastera entabló con el campo musical de Buenos Aires en momentos fundacionales del CLAEM. The Election of Stravinsky and Villa- Lobos for the CLAEM’s* Musical Establishment Abstract In the context of the emergence of CLAEM, 1961-62, expectations about the characteristics of the type of musical aesthetics that the Centre would deal with, focused on past production of Alberto Ginastera, its director, and an American ideal closely linked to the political climate of the time. Among the first public actions addressed by the Centre, there are two concerts-tributes: one dedicated to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Igor Stravinsky, and the other, with works by Heitor Villa-Lobos, performed at the opening of the CLAEM main classroom. The study of the reception of these dates brings us closer part of the negotiations that Ginastera started on the Buenos Aires music field at the founding moments of CLAEM.
