REFLEXIONES SOBRE EL FUTURO DE LA EDICIÓN DE TEXTOS LATINOS DE ÉPOCA CLÁSICA JavIer velaza Frías Universitat de Barcelona velaza@ub.edu Resumen — En este trabajo se discute la utilidad de seguir realizando ediciones críticas de los autores clásicos en el estado actual de nuestro campo. A pesar de las diicultades, sigue habiendo razones para continuar con esta labor central de la Filología Clásica: siguen apareciendo, aunque en número reducido, textos nuevos; hay textos que no han sido revisados y editados desde hace más de un siglo; hay nuevos planteamientos teóricos sobre algunos aspectos de la crítica textual y, sobre todo, nuevos instru- mentos, entre los cuales destacan los electrónicos y digitales, que permiten acercarse a los textos de una forma diferente y, sobre todo, que proporcionan ediciones más ricas y versátiles. SOME THOUGHTS ABOUT CLASSICAL LATIN TEXTS FUTURE CRITICAL EDITIONS Abstract — In this paper, the opportunity of the continuation in the critical edition of Classical texts is discussed within the actual situation of our studies. Despite the diiculties, the author defends that there are still reasons to continue with this nu- clear task of Classical Philology: new texts are discovered from time to time; many authors and texts have not been revisited and edited for more than a century; new theoretical approaches have been proposed for some aspects of textual criticism; and, over all, new technical instruments have appeared, among which the electronic and digital devices are of the highest importance, because they allow to ofer richer and more versatile editions.
