The experiment was carried out in split-plot design with three replications having three variety viz. (i) V = ACI Hybrid dhan 1, (ii) V = BRRI dhan29 and (iii) V = BRRI hybrid 1 2 3 dhan2 in main plot and four urea application method viz. (i) T = 2.7 g size USG placement at 8 DAT, (ii) T = 1.8 1 2 g size USG placement at 8 DAT + Prilled urea plotG (75 g for V and V and 45 g for V ) at 30 DAT, (iii) T =1.8 1 1 3 2 3 g size USG placement at 8 DAT + foliar spray plotG (75 g for V and V and 45 g for V ) at 30 DAT and (iv) 1 1 3 2 T = 0.9 g size USG placement at 8 DAT + Prilled urea plotG (37.5 g for V and V and 22.5 g V ) at 30 DAT + 4 1 3 2 1 foliar spray plotG (37.5 g for V and V and 22.5 g for V ) at 50 DAT in sub plot. Result showed that variety and 1 1 3 2 urea fertilizer application method had significant effect on plant height, tillers hillG, dry weight hillG, leaf area 1 1 index, grain panicleG, 1000-grain weight, grain yield, straw yield and harvest index. BRRI hybrid dhan2 (V ) 1 3 showed the highest plant height (108 cm), number of tillers hillG (23.98), dry weight hillG (84.14 g), leaf area 1 1 index (7.12), grains panicleG (131.20), 1000-grain weight (26.12 g), grain yield (4.79 t haG), straw yield (6.80 t 1 1 haG) and harvest index (41.25%) at harvest. With different methods of urea application T gave the highest 1 1 number of tillers hillG(24.67), dry weight hillG(83.22 g), leaf area index (6.83), grains panicleG(128.2), 1000-grain 1 1 1 weight (25.73 g), grain yield (4.67 t haG), straw yield (6.72 t haG) and harvest index (40.66%) at harvest. With 1 1 the combined effect of different boro rice variety and methods of urea application the highest number of tillers hillG (28.00 at harvest), dry weight hillG (90.59 g at harvest), leaf area index (7.87 at harvest), grains panicleG 1 1 1 (146.20), 1000-grain weight (26.79 g), grain yield (5.41 t haG) and straw yield (7.20 t haG) was at V T .
