Arts with no prejudices in a globalized world Walace Rodrigues Resumo Este artigo tenta levantar pensamentos sobre a velha dicotomia entre arte e artesanato. Para tanto, buscou-se casos onde esta dicotomia parece mais evidente, como nas obras da artista contemporânea portuguesa Joana Vasconcelos, na arte indígena brasileira, na arte negro-africana e nas produções artísticas orientais. Tenta-se, aqui, valorizar o fazer artesanal como arte, sinalando que os saberes se integram em um mundo atualmente globalizado, onde o eurocentrismo deve ser combatido e a abertura ao “outro” da história valorizada. Palavras-chave Joana Vasconcelos; arte indígena brasileira; arte negro-africana; artes orientais. Abstract This article aims to bring up thoughts about the old dichotomy between art and craft. To do so we have looked for cases where this dichotomy seems more evident, as in the works by contemporary Portuguese artist Joana Vas- concelos, in the Brazilian indigenous arts, in the black-African arts case and in the artistic works from the Orient. Here we try to value the crafts as a form of art, signaling that various forms of knowledge get together within the actual globalized world, where Eurocentrism must be combated and where openness towards the “other” in history must be praised.
