Grupo de Pesquisa: Sistemas Agroalimentares e Cadeias Agroindustriais. Resumo O Sistema Brasileiro de Identificação e Certificação de Origem Bovina e Bubalina, o SISBOV, criado principalmente como uma resposta às exigências dos países importadores de carne bovina, tem passado por uma série de ajustes e modificações em sua estrutura de funcionamento, culminando na sua reformulação em 2006, quando o Mapa revogou a legislação anterior e renomeou-o como Serviço de Rastreabilidade da Cadeia Produtiva de Bovinos e Bubalinos. Este artigo faz uma análise das dificuldades e polêmicas que marcaram o sistema em seus primeiros quatro anos de uso e compara os sistemas antigo e novo. Abstract The Brazilian Bovine and Bubaline Identification and Certification System, the SISBOV, mainly created as a response to the beef importer countries exigencies, has undergone by many adjustments and modifications in its structure, culminating in its reformulation in 2006, when the Ministry of Agriculture replaced the old legislation and renamed the system as Bovine and Bubaline Production Chain Traceability Service. This paper makes an essay of the system difficulties in the last four year and compares the old and the new system.
