Vários são os problemas socioambientais observados na bacia do manancial, como a remoção da cobertura vegetal em áreas de preservação permanente, desencadeando vários processos erosivos; a poluição de suas águas devido à introdução de esgotos domésticos; etc. Sendo assim, o objetivo da pesquisa foi o de elaborar um inventário do meio físico da Bacia Hidrográfica da Represa de Chapéu D’Uvas, gerando um conjunto de informações que subsidiem o planejamento ambiental em sua área de abrangência. Para tanto, foram realizados levantamentos bibliográficos e trabalhos de campo cujos resultados obtidos foram sistematizados e cartografados, gerando uma coleção de mapas temáticos, gráficos e tabelas que foram interpretados e permitiram a análise da área estudada. Abstract The Watershed Dam of Chapéu D'Uvas, located in the southeastern State of Minas Gerais, will be used for public water supply in the city of Juiz de Fora in 2012 yet. There are several social and environmental problems observed in the basin of the spring, as the removal of vegetation in areas of permanent preservation, triggering various erosion processes; the pollution of its waters due to the introduction of domestic sewage, etc. Therefore, the objective of this research was to develop an inventory of the physical environment of the Watershed Dam of Chapéu D’Uvas, generating a set of information that support environmental planning in their area. Thus, we conducted literature surveys and field studies whose results were systematized and mapped, creating a collection of thematic maps, graphs and tables that were interpreted and allowed the analysis of the studied area.
