Yaşam boyu devam eden eğitimin bir parçası olan okuma, çevrenin değişmesi ya da teknolojinin gelişmesi gibi etkenlerle değişikliğe uğramaktadır. Bu süreçte, kitle iletişim araçları, özellikle de televizyon, kişilerin okuma alışkanlığında etkili rol oynamaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı; edebiyat-eğitim-televizyon ilişkisi bağlamında, öykü ve romanlardan uyarlanan dizilerin; ortaokul, lise ve üniversite öğrencilerinin okuma eğilimleri üzerindeki etkisini belirlemektir. Araştırmanın evrenini Türkiye’deki ortaokul, lise ve üniversite öğrencileri; örneklemini ise17 il ve bu illerdeki ortaokul, lise ve üniversitede okuyan 1693 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada araştırmacılar tarafından literatür taramasına dayalı olarak geliştirilen bir anket kullanılmıştır. Veriler,frekans (n) ve yüzde (%) değerleri ile ifade edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda kitaptan uyarlama dizilerin öğrencilerin okumaları üzerinde olumlu bir şekildeetkili olduğu ve öğrencilerde, dizinin uyarlandığı kitaba, kitabın yazarına ve yazarın diğer kitaplarına yönelik bir ilgi oluşturduğu belirlenmiştir. Anahtar Kelimeler:Kitap, Okuma, Televizyon, Dizi, Eğitim. Abstract Turning the action of reading into a lifelong habit is among the objectives of teaching reading. Reading, as a part of lifelong learning, changes in accordance with the changes in the environment and with the technological developments. In this process; mass media, especially television, has a strong effect on reading habits. The purpose of this study is to determine –in terms of the relation among literature, education, television– the effect of TV series which are adapted from stories or novels upon reading tendencies of middle school students, high school students and undergraduates. While the population of the study consists of middle school students, high school students and undergraduates; the sample includes 17 cities and 1693 students from various middle schools, high schools and universities in these cities. A questionnaire formed according to literature review method was employed for the study. The data has been stated with frequency (n) and percent (%) values. As a result of the study; it has been determined that TV series adapted from books have a positive effect on reading habits of students and create some interest in the books from which the TV series were adapted, in the authors of the books and in the other books of the authors.
