The research was carried during the 2009-2010 Academic year in the Faculty of Theology at Selçuk University with 34 students in Turkish Preparation Class. Computer assisted materials, developed by the researcher for five classes, were chosen for the present study. The results show that there is a significant difference between pre-test post- test results of experimental and control groups, especially in one class subject taught using computer assisted Turkish Foreign Language Material. Keywords: First keywords, second keywords, third keywords, forth keywords. The demand to learn Turkish nowadays is in a constant increase. Compared with the demand the Turkish Language Teaching Materials are rare. On analyzing the presentations in Turkish Language Instruction Congresses and Conferences, the greatest demand expressed in teaching Turkish is the lack of materials. (Hayber, 2010; MiskinieneveNasibova, 2010; Tüm, 2010; Kont, 2000; Mehmet, 2000) At present, materials for the instruction of Turkish to Foreigners are very rare. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to develop computer supported materials and to measure its efficacy on students is necessary. As the language instruction books written based on a particular method may not be ideal for particular language teaching environments, since the 1990’ies developing language teaching materials gained impetus (Peçenek, 2005) and various books on material development have been published during the 1990ies and 2000nds (Hidalgo, Hall veJacops, 1995; Tomlinson, 1998; McDonough ve Shaw, 2003; McGrath, 2002; Tomlinson, 1998, 2003a, 2003b; Tomlinson veMasuhara, 2004).With these publications, the principles for material development have been determined and the foundations for material development have been laid. With the development in technology, the incorporation of technology into foreign language instruction was unavoidable and hence foreign language instruction was supported with computer. As expressed by Dale in his cone of experience (Dale, 1946) the more senses are involved in the learning processes, the more lasting are the materials learned. The computer, besides addressing to the ears and eyes simultaneously, it incorporates the students into the learning process with the interactive teaching materials. The present study aims to develop computer assisted Turkish Language Teaching Materials and to measure its efficiency developed within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR) at A1 basic level for teaching Turkish at the age of 13 and above. _____________ ∗ Dr. Researcher, Necmetin Erbakan Univercity, Education Faculty, Turkish Education Branch, Konya, Turkey, email: yusuf_sulukcu@hotmail.com
