O objetivo foi compreender, refletir e relacionar aspectos simbólicos das crenças-imagens da poética-brincante do sebastianismo da Amazônia atlântica, a partir da simbólica do Touro negro, em sua regência, sua sabência e sua sofrência. A metodologia utilizada envolveu observação direta, de cunho etnográfico, com visitações locais, como ao Memorial Rei Sebastião, escutas e conversas informais entre os ilhéus-súditos. Resultados ilustram que a simbólica cumpre funções da imaginação simbólica durandiana, mas conclue-se que o retorno do rei acontece não mais de forma salvacionista, mas de integração comunitário-libertária de um povo oprimido e sofrido. Abstract: The object of this study is the symbolic dimension of the Bull delighted in connection with the fishermen from Ilha dos Lençóis and the myth of King Sebastian. The goal was to understand, reflect and relate the symbolic aspects of the poetic and beliefs- images of Sebastianism in the Atlantic Amazon, from the symbolic of the black Bull, in his rule, wisdom and suffering aspects. Methodology involved direct observation, ethnography, as local visitations, such as to the Memorial King Sebastian and informal talks between the islanders-subjects. Results illustrate that fulfills symbolic functions of durandian symbolic imagination, but we conclude that the return of the king does not happen over Salvationist way, but in community-libertarian integration of an oppressed and suffering people.
