Lack of practical experience and real time exposure let the companies to think about a Fresher. As of advancement in the technology the academic regulations should also be updated. Embedded System is a fast and vast emerging field where a lot of employability is required in recent days. In order to update on the recent trends the base knowledge should be strong. The knowledge on Embedded System can only be gathered practically rather than theoretical explanations. Also the virtual lab (Simulation) concept should be implemented for more structured experiments with less consumed time. Some techniques and regulations have been discussed in this paper for the improvement of technical skill and practical exposure of individual so as to compete with the recent electronic trends and challenges. Keywords—Embedded, Practical, Simulation, Virtual Lab, Employability, Real time, Regulation, Exposure. I. INTRODUCTION A basic requirement and integral part of our life is almost dependent on an electronic device such as cell phone, router, automotive electronics, medical instruments, music players etc. which operates on embedded system. Day by day the dependency on the mobile like platform increases to a maximum reach. Program controlled machines are being updated and popularized. Even a small kid swaps his finger across TV screen to change channel thinking that it’s a touch screen! As the civilization is being modernized engineers also should be updated accordingly and need to understand the internals of this evolution. As Embedded System is a combination of hardware, software and mechanical parts assembled; one need to know about all these individuals [1]. Major building blocks of an Embedded System can be categorized as Microcontroller, Integrated Chips, Digital Signal Processors, On board and external Communicative protocols, Real Time Operating System, Device Drivers, Board Support Packages, Sensors, Actuators and PCB designing, Fabrication and Assembling process etc. The concept of machine understanding with the real time requirement should be given with more priority. On vary next day a new product is being launched with modified ideas and application which keep the embedded world updated. Human Machine Interface, Application and Simulation Communication Protocol and standards Real Time Operating System Device Driver and Board Support Packages Board level circuit designing Integrated Chips MCU and DSP ASIC and FPGA Buses and Interfaces Table. 1 (Layered Embedded Architecture) On every stage/layer of the Embedded System architecture, algorithms, software and hardware need to be understood by the engineers, architects and the managers to maintain the implication of the growth. Application of embedded system has created an unbelievable horizon; some of them can be stated: 1) Mobile computing 2) Wireless and wired networking 3) Image and Signal processing 4) Printers, Monitors and displays 5) Banking, Security, Camera 6) Consumer electronics 7) Defense and aerospace engineering 8) Automotive and automations 9) Robotics, Multimedia 10) Biomedical Instrumentation etc. All these products should be well understood in the process of their internal development. At least instead a layman, an engineer should have technical idea who can better understand and explain the process of execution [14]. 92 978-1-4673-6746-2/15/$31.00 c 2015 IEEE
