The Middle East and The ‘American’ International System Siddhant Kalra April 15, 2015 The American International System has transformed the concept of sovereignty for modern nations. In the transnational order, sovereignty is not merely the right to make policy and defend its territory, but has also acquired economic and ideological dimensions. The interaction of the International system with the Middle Eastern regions has elicited these dimensions to the surface. Within the International system, the Middle East represents a region of transition. A study of this transition is the study of the challenges that this region places to this conversion.
