CORRELATION BETWEEN ENGLISH AND WEB DESIGN SUBJECTS: A CASE STUDY OF STUDENTS AT FACULTY OF ECONOMICS, UNIKOM Jonathan Sarwono 1 Computer University of Indonesia Jl Dipati Ukur 112-116 Bandung Abstract Experiences in the classroom showed that many students whose English marks are high have high Web Design marks as well. It happened for several semesters. From such facts, the writer have conducted research concerning this problem. The research was done to prove empirically that there is a correlation between those two mentioned subjects. The data were taken from the students of economics at Unikom. The present writer used linear regression model to analyse the data. The research findings have proved that there is high correlation between the two subjects studied. INTRODUCTION This research idea came up because of the empirical experiences during several semesters when the present writer taught English subject as MKDU and an Internet HTML and JavaScript programming languages, known as a web design subject. Observation proved that there is correlation between the English subject and the Web Design subject in terms of the grade the students obtained. This can logically be understood since all the syntax structures of all computer and Internet programming languages are written in English. The present writer’s assumption is that there must be a positive correlation between those two subjects. B. METHOD OF RESEARCH The research was done with the following method: 1.
