USING E-LEARNING OF JENDERAL SOEDIRMAN UNIVERSITY (EL-DIRU®) TO TEACH GRAMMAR: STUDENTS’ PERSPECTIVE Mia Fitria Agustina, Ririn KurniaTrisnawati, Agus Sapto Nugroho English Literature Department. This is because technology offers many significant tool, ways, and authentic materials. Seeing that it is interesting to apply technology in teaching, Jenderal Soedirman University facilitate lecturers by providing e-learning of Jenderal Soedirman (eL-DirU® ). Jenderal Soedirman University has managed to modify an e-learning website to support its students’ academic activities. The eL-DirU® website provides some friendly-used features for the students to learn various subjects both on-line and off-line including learning English language subjects. Among the features provided, there is a url-feature that can be linked to various websites such as youtube.com, facebook.com, etc. Based on the research conducted in Grammar in Use class, eL-DirU® is proven as an effective way to enhance students’ English grammar competences. Hence, this paper is written based on that particular research; however, it only focuses on students’ perspective in English Grammar in Use Class. Through the paper, students opinions about learning grammar using eL-DirU® are going to be analyzed to find out what features of eL-DirU® that they like the most, they dislike the most, they think the most helpful, they think the least helpful, and they think the useless one. Nowadays, people cannot live without technology. They depend on techonology fully. We can see the dependecy in everday live. In our household, we cook using rice cooker, we drink from dispenser, and we stay cool because of air conditioner. It is also easier for us to go to other cities in a very short time. Plane, ship, car, and motorcycle are vehicle that we may take to make our journey more comfortable. Moreover, computer, television, smartphone, and internet are available to support our needs. Thus, it can be said that technology whether we like it or not is a seperable part for people. Seeing that technology is so essential, transfering knowledge using technology becomes important to be done. Despite of the disadvantage of technology, learning using thenology is a must now. Students are familiar with technology, in this case smartphone, internet, and computer. Therefore, as teachers who always want to give the best to the students, teachers may use technology to encourage students to learn better as the familiarity of technology possed by the students make them feel easier to study. Besides that, students think that technology is awesome. It is modern. Hence, when they learn something through technology, they are so proud and it may increase their self esteem. Because of the reasons, Jenderal Soedirman University, launched an electronic learning called by eldiru. Through eldiru, it is hoped that the students may learn better.
