Em Moçambique a integração das Tecnologias de Comunicação e Informação (TIC) no ensino não superior está ainda numa fase embrionária. O acesso à Internet ou ao computador continua a ser uma miragem para muitos estudantes. Entretanto, com as iniciativas do governo Moçambicano no sentido promover o uso das TIC na educação em particular e à sociedade no geral, têm se verificado inúmeras acções com vista à utilização das TIC nas escolas moçambicanas. Desde 1998, várias acções vêm sendo realizadas pelo governo de Moçambique no tendo em vista o apetrechamento das escolas com material informático; no entanto constata-se que as acções não estão a produzir os resultados desejados, pois tem-se verificado que os equipamentos informáticos doados às escolas chegam a ficar obsoletos sem que sejam usados, muitas vezes por falta de capacidade técnica interna para a sua operacionalização. Nesta comunicação, depois de uma breve reflexão teórica em torno do papel das TIC no processo de ensino e aprendizagem, vamos apresentar algumas das iniciativas em curso tanto a nível do equipamento das escolas como da formação de professores, deixando antever alguns dos resultados já obtidos. Abstract The emergence of the computer was one of the most significant innovations of the last century and has caused great changes in all areas of human activity. In Mozambique the integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in non-higher education is still in its infancy. Internet access or computer is still a mirage for many students. However, with the Mozambican government's efforts towards promoting the use of ICT in education in particular and society in general have been found numerous actions for the use of ICT in Mozambican schools. Since 1998, several actions have been undertaken by the government of Mozambique with a view to equipping schools with computer equipment, however it appears that the actions are not producing the desired results, it has been found that the computer equipment donated schools even become obsolete without being used, often for lack of technical capacity for its internal operation. In this communication, after a brief theoretical discussion around the role of ICT in teaching and learning, we will present some of the initiatives underway both within the school equipment and training of teachers, prefiguring some of the results already obtained.
