The concept politics can be described as a system, where the different sections and power focuses agree on a common base and it includes subsystem belonging itself. As is in almost all social sciences, also political science, human factor is one of the determinative factors. In other words, individuals as fundamental determinatives in shaping political power have an important position. Therefore, political scientists, modeling the reasons affecting the voting behavior of individuals, aim to find the reasons affecting the voting behavior of the voter. These models are inclined on different factors. Until now, most of these factors were considered from various aspects, but the religious factor, subject of our study, newly began to enter the literature of voter behavior. From this aspect, in the formation of voter preference, the effect of religious factor comes to our face as a new problem. Therefore, our study differentiates from the other existent studies. The main question of our study is the effect of religious factor on the voting behavior. This question was attempted to be answered by taking as a base 2011 General Elections of Deputy. Keywords: Voter, Voter behavior, Religious factor. Introduction On the foundation of democracies, there is determination of elite via representation and election. Therefore, together with the modern democracies, the governments began to recognize right to vote to their citizens. Since the voter behavior is one of a participation form including in the area of political participation, it is also one of the main factors determining the relationships of individual with political system. Voter behavior reflects that the attitudes, behaviors, and actions the individual introduces toward political system Analyzing the voter behavior in democracy have a great importance. There are many economic, sociologic, psychological, and political factors affecting the preference of voter. In the direction of these factors, how the voters ballots naturally becomes important. In associated with the subject of our study, knowing that the voters are more sensitive to sociocultural variables is important. The major variable is religion. Religion, due to the fact it is one of the important phenomena that shape and affecting the life of human being, undertaking an important role in political arena, affects the behaviors to vote of humans.
