The research was descriptive and cross-sectional. The sample is comprised of the students from the I ˙ stanbul University Bakırko ¨y School of Health and Hasan Ali Yu ¨cel Faculty of Education (N = 877). The survey form used for data collection includes questions on socio-demo- graphic features, knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of students on sexual health. In analyzing the data, averages and percentages are calculated and Chi-square tests are per- formed. The average age of the students in our study was 20.7 ± 1.718 years and only 39.0% of them had sufficient knowledge on sexuality. Analysis revealed that there were differences between men and women about their reported relationship with the opposite sex (p \ 0.001), premarital sexual intercourse (p \ 0.001), expectation of virginity from spouse (p \ 0.001) and sexual preference (p \ 0.001) were significant. We have con- cluded that university students’ sexual knowledge is insufficient, their behaviors and attitudes are influenced by traditional approaches and understanding of sexuality differs between two genders.
