1 Agricultural Integrated Information System (A.I.I.S.): Specifying a system to meet the training needs of farmers. M. Tamoutsidou (m_tamoutsidou@yahoo.gr) and D. Tseles (dtsel@teipir.gr) TEI Piraeus, Thivon 250, Aigaleo, Athens, Greece Abstract In this study we first try to identify farmers’ needs and problems, secondly to investigate information accessibility via Agricultural Integrated Information System (A.I.I.S.) based on e- learning and provided by the academic institution of tertiary education located in Florina, Greece. With the aid of a well known e-learning system, installed in institution’s services, the educational/training course content, in digital form, is managed dynamically, shared by the farmers freely and forms the basis for a better agricultural development and productivity. Finally, with the design of such an electronic system, that can provide fast, easy and up-to-date agricultural information in several ways; enables farmers to keep up-to-date with new productivity and sustainable innovations in Greek agriculture. These services offer firstly to farmer communication and
