Maria M. Larrondo Petrie, Florida Atlantic University
María M. Larrondo Petrie has over 20 years of experience in higher education. Presently she is
Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, and Associate Dean for Academic and
International Affairs for the College of Engineering at Florida Atlantic University. In the past, she
has served as: President and Executive Council member of the Upsilon Pi Epsilon Honor Society
for the Computing and Information Disciplines, and on the Education Board of ACM
SIGGRAPH. Currently she serves as Executive Vice President and as Vice President of Research
of the Latin American and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions; Member-at-Large
on the Board of the Minorities in Engineering Division and Secretary/Treasurer of the
International Division of the American Society for Engineering Education; and is on the
Executive Committee and Strategic Planning Committee of the newly formed International

Dr. Clement Sankat is the Dean of Engineering at University of West Indies, Trinidad & Tobago
and is Regional Vice President of the Latin American and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering
Institutions (LACCEI).
Roberto Loran, Universidad del Turabo
Dr. Roberto Loran is the Vice Rector of the Universidad del Turabo, Puerto Rico; and is a
member of the board of the Latin America and Caribbean Consortium of Engineering Institutions
(LACCEI).
