Minha hipótese geral é que o kairós pode ser definido tanto como oportunidade quanto como contexto. Por fim, busco apresentar em quatro tópicos o kairós nos textos isocráticos, sendo eles: a) o kairós como oportunidade que surge em meio ao acaso; b) os discursos devem participar do kairós; c) as opiniões devem estar próximas ao kairós; d) os acontecimentos passados são uma herança da comunidade e devem ser interpretados en kairṓi. Palavras chave: Isócrates ― kairós ― filosofia grega ― retórica. ABSTRACT: In this study, I am to research the meaning of the term kairós and its uses in the philosophy of Isocrates. The central hypothesis in this paper argues that the kairós can be defined both as opportunity and as context. Finally, I try to present on four topics the kairós in isocratics texts, namely: a) the kairós is an opportunity that arises by chance; b) speeches should participate in the kairós; c) opinions should be close to the kairós; d) past events are a community's heritage and should be interpreted en kairṓi.
