Some are gained since he/she was born and some are obtained along with his/her life. Personal diversity often became a very sensitive issue and these differences tend to be avoided either by individuals or organizations. But it cannot be denied if personal diversity is not something that can be avoided and must be faced by everyone. There are many management books that discuss about diversity. Those books talk about what diversity are, types of diversity, and the importance of managing diversity. Competence itself is important for an employee to be able to have a good performance. Personal diversity and competence are two things that will affect the individual's performance and definitely will affect the performance of the organization. Related with those problem, this study would like to know how the influence of personal diversity and competence to one’s performance. All data were collected using a questionnaire, in which the questionnaire contains the respondent data to determine the diversity of the respondents and 14 point statement to determine the competence and performance. Collected a total of 125 questionnaires were obtained from 5 selected companies. These five companies were chosen because they have the same characteristics, which have a diverse employee. The collected data was then analyzed using structural equation modeling. From the analysis it was found that personal diversity and competence has a direct influence on a person's performance and personal diversity has inversely influence with one's competence. Keywords: personal diversity, competence, performance, SEM ABSTRAK Personal diversity merupakan suatu hal yang dimiliki oleh setiap orang. Beberapa hal tersebut diperoleh sejak individu lahir, dan beberapa hal lainnya diperoleh sepanjang perjalanan hidup. Personal diversity kerap menjadi suatu isu yang sensitif sehingga perbedaan tersebut sering kali dihindari oleh individu dan organisasi. Namun, tidak dapat dipungkiri bahwa personal diversity merupakan suatu hal yang tidak dapat dihindari dan harus dihadapi oleh siapapun. Banyak buku manajemen yang membahas tentang diversity. Buku tersebut membahas diversity tersebut, seperti; tipe dari diversity, dan peran penting dari managing diversity. Kompetensi merupakan suatu hal penting juga bagi individu untuk dapat menghasilkan kinerja yang baik. Personal diversity dan kompetensi merupakan dua hal yang akan memberikan pengaruh terhadap kinerja individu sehingga juga akan memberikan pengaruh terhadap kinerja organisasi. Sehubungan dengan masalah tersebut, penelitian ini berupaya untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh dari personal diversity dan kompetensi terhadap kinerja seseorang. Semua data didalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui penyebaran kuesioner, dimana kuesioner tersebut ditujukan untuk mengukur diversity dari para responden, termasuk dengan 14 poin pertanyaan untuk mengetahui kompetensi dan kinerja. Total 125 kuesioner berhasil diperoleh dari 5 perusahaan.
