Abstract— 1To be aware of one’s safety has become
basic necessity. When a vehicle meets with an accident
in a highway or in the outer part of the city, the
possibility of immediate help of the medics is very low.
So to overcome this issue, a system which can report
automatically about the crash to the emergency help is
implemented in vehicles so that the valuable lives are
saved. The earlier approach is about implementing
such a facility in vehicles with SOS support which had
normal cameras, produced unclear view. The
proposed system improves the efficiency of accident
report with the help of fisheye lens camera which
produces more detailed view inside the vehicle. Using
fisheye lens camera, Sensors and SIM908-C the
emergency helpers will get the detailed report about
the accident immediately.

I. INTRODUCTION
When a vehicle meets with an accident in high way
road or outer part of the city the immediate help of the
medics are very low. It will be even worse during the
night time. Because of this many valuable lives are lost.
New generation vehicles are improved in such a way that
the numbers of accidents are decreased. In recent years,
some alarm system and intelligent controlled apparatus
have been designed and developed in order to increase the
safety of automobiles.
Accidents in which a vehicle rolls over account for
more than half of all single-vehicle crash deaths. An
emergency system for a vehicle would detect and analyze
the life threatening event, and, in an automated fashion,
notify the emergency medical helpers for immediate
action. While there are few such systems available, most
of them are costly, vehicle specific, requires human
intervention, and do not provide information about the
inner condition of the vehicle Security in travel is a
primary concern for everyone.[2] Often in a rollover
accident, the driver and passengers are unable to call for
help, the researchers said. Unless the accident occurs on a

busy road, rescue is unlikely to arrive quickly [3]. Prompt
communication is crucial during life-threatening events
such as fire, floods, explosions and traffic accidents, and
is especially true for vehicle rollovers and crashes. Noting
such situations can be even more dangerous for military
personnel during training or maneuvers off road and in
remote locations. [1]
An effective alarm system that can monitor an
automotive/ vehicle condition during travelling is being
proposed in our system. The paper named “Enhanced
Automated Crash Reporting System in Vehicles BASED
on SMS & MMS with Fish Eye CAM” shows this
proposed system is designed to inform about a crash that
has occurred. This system uses inexpensive sensor
technology, including a gyroscope to detect rollover and
powerful microcontroller unit SIM908-C which comprises
of GPS/GPRS/GSM and SOS modules to report about the
emergency. Through advanced GPS emergency helpers
can locate the exact accident location.
II. RELATED WORK
This section comprises our work on Enhanced crash
reporting system with related work.
Smartphones and their onboard sensors are used to
report about the accident to the emergency helpers which
use the camera available in the smart phone [4]. But
camera in smart phone cannot give an entire view inside
the vehicle and if the system is kept inside the vehicle, the
possibility of device getting damage is more. Advantage
of enhanced crash reporting system is that its core device
is kept in the place where the probability of the damage is
very low.
Vehicle localization [5] and rapid data acquisition are
important to an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS),
which utilize sensor networks to monitor traffic conditions
and make adjustments to increase safety and reduce
congestion on transportation networks [6]. These systems
count cars to determine speed and congestion, as well as
detect ice build-up and other hazards [7]. But these
processes done in whole and the cost of the system design
is very high. In enhanced crash reporting system each and
every vehicle will be fixed with an inexpensive devise
which monitors and report about the crash to the
emergency helpers.
