Resumo: Este artigo tem por objetivo buscar uma articulação teórica entre o gênero romance e os estudos intermidiáticos. Para tanto, investigamos em que medida o surgimento do romance abalou a teoria dos gêneros estabelecida por Aristóteles e adotada pelo classicismo. Em seguida, enfocamos a intermidialidade, que veio a preencher as limitações dos estudos interartes, configurando-se como um interessante campo de estudos para os estudos literários. Assim, procuramos demonstrar, a partir dos estudos de Jürgen Müller, Claus Clüver e Irina Rajewsky, hipóteses teóricas para a pesquisa das interações entre romance e outras mídias, tais como HQs, pintura, fotografia, cinema, televisão, internet etc. Palavras-chave: Romance. Gênero. Intermidialidade. Abstract: This paper aims to seek a theoretical articulation between the genre novel and intermedia studies. Therefore, we investigate how the arising of the novel has unsettled the genre theory established by Aristotle and adopted by the classicists. Then, we focus on intermediality, which came to fill the limitations of the interart studies, setting itself as an interesting field for the literary studies. Thus, we seek to demonstrate, from the studies by Jürgen Müller, Claus Clüver and Irina Rajewsky, theoretical conjectures to research on the interactions between the novel and other media, such as comics, painting, photography, movie, television, the internet etc. Keywords: Novel. Por lo tanto, se investiga en qué medida la aparición de la novela ha sacudido a la teoría de los géneros establecida por Aristóteles y adoptada por el clasicismo.
