Speedily advancing sotware technologies have made it possible to develop a new generation of Supervisory Control and Data-Acquisition (SCADA) system. This generation of SCADA is known as PROPOSED SCADA SYSTEMS. This paper present a concept of how industrial and commercial areas can be monitored and controlled via SCADA system from anywhere in the world on supported portable devices. Through Remote access of SCADA, the Remote Desktop Protocol (ROP) brings SCADA real-time and passes information to users. The presented solution provides reduced sotware costs while improving reliability. The system also allows Open Process Control (OPC) linkage between the controller and SCADA systems. An additional monitoring approach in this system is lP CAMERAS based online visual monitoring. Life videos of the industry and commercial area can be viewed from anywhere in the globe on the portable devices. The proposed concept is simulated on two prototype industrial plants 1) An automated Car Wash System and 2) Load Cell based luggage segregation. Proposed system was tested on simulator and show remarkable results. Keywords- SCADA, IP Cameras, Industrial Process, Remote Access, PLC I. INTRODUCTION The architecture of a SCADA system changed with the attitude of computing in organizations, rom mainrame dominated, centralized computing systems to network-based distributed computing in the early 1990s [ 1]. Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for data handling, controlling and monitoring control processes has shown a considerable growth l over the last years including industrial and commercial areas. The current trend in SCADA for remote monitoring and control is to use the wireless communications resulting in a decrease wired systems. This enhances and expands the usability, utility and useulness of SCADA. In this paper, concept is developed for live video monitoring and controlling the system processes rom anywhere in the world. This particular approach is taken mainly due to the large and common usage of portable computing and communication devices in everyday use. Another key concept is the usage of an Ethernet element that provides the SCADA to be connected over the network to provide web based interface for easy to use with worldwide coverage. An Internet/Intranet and SCADA system interconnection based on communication standards is offered as a solution. The interconnection allows linking between SCADA system and authorized users. Web server rom the company Internet linked to the SCADA system permits users to easily access to SCADA data. Users access that information via Remote Desktop Protoco I. Security, portability and low cost of RDP based sotware; administration and managing are provided by the presented solution. This also regards the whole SCADA system as a Web-based application. This adds more lexibility and scalability to the system and allows the system to beneit rom all available Intenet technologies 2 . The remainder of this paper is organized as follows. Section II deines the problem solution in detail. Section III comprises of the basic information about SCADA systems and OPC server. Section IV deines the proposed concept design for a Web based SCADA system and tools for live video monitoring. Two simulation plants described for implementing PROPOSED SCADA unctions are shown in Section V, and Section VI provides a conclusion. II. PROBLEM DEFINITION Nowadays every industrial and commercial process needs control system; it can be either by means of old relay technique or by using highly advanced electronic controllers. With this necessity in mind, comes the requirement of monitoring and controlling of these processes rom remote locations, for which SCADA systems were introduced. 978-1-4673-4463-0/13/$31.00 ©2013 IEEE 270
